Your Email Address

We collect your email address when you create an account or contact us through our email form. We will not distribute your email address or use it for any other purpose than the reasons for requiring it. We hate receiving spam as much as you do so we are not going to contribute to it.

We need your email address when you create an account for several reasons. First, it helps us to identify you since each person's email address is unique. If you need to be reminded of your login information, we ask for your email address and if your address matches an account in our database we will send the login information to that email address. Also, if we need to get in touch with you in regards to your account or the status of the website's services, we will contact you via email.

We require your email address on the Contact form because we would not be able to reply to your email without it.

Cookies

There are two types of cookies, temporary and saved, and we use both of them. Temporary cookies are NOT saved to your computer and die as soon as you close your browser. Saved cookies are small text files saved to your computer. We use saved cookies very little, but here are the areas.

1. Login: When members log in, they will notice a checkbox labeled "Remember my username". At your request, we will store your username in a saved cookie so that you will not have to enter it the next time you log in from the computer you requested it. We do not save your password because we think it is a security concern. Someone could locate the cookie on your computer and get both your username and password from it.
2. Add a Fuel Record: When members enter fuelings, they designate the fuel type and the units of measurement for fuel quantity and distance traveled. In most cases these will not change from one fueling to the next. To speed our members use of this system, we save those setting so they will not have to enter them each time they add a fueling.

Miscellaneous Information

We collect non-personal information from all of our visitors so that MyAutoLog.com can maintain and improve its services. We track statistics like total number of visitors, their Internet browser and operating system to aid us in building a better website.

Any changes in this privacy policy will be promptly disclosed in these pages.
